Fun Fact: Lent is a season celebrated to commemorate the 40 days Jesus Christ of Nazareth spent in the desert. In Matthew 4:1- 11, Jesus is tempted by Satan in the desert, making requests for him to use the powers of God to manifest food, water, and to send Angels to his aide if he jumped off a building (or cliff). Lent, then, is our chance to win over temptation.
You don't have to be affiliated with a church, or religion to recognize the coming of Lent. In fact, cultures across the world have widely come to embed the season of Lent into their traditional practices. For example, Mardi Gras, or Fat Tuesday is a celebration of the feast before Ash Wednesday, which is the beginning of Lent according to Church calendars. Carnival season in islands such as Trinidad & Tobago, are also linked to the coming of the season. Lent is widely recognized across countries with Christian backgrounds. So, if someone asks you, "What are you giving up for Lent", what will you say?

Movements are important. They are the galvanizing causes that require people to use conviction to bring change, and to invest interest (and eventually finances) in the right direction. Right is subjective, but movements are as common as they are important. Yet, not every movement takes off and it's important to understand why it's not yet time to hang up your boots on your movement.
"Your curiosity to identify problems, to discover solutions, and to continue to grow in your endless capacity." Are you unapologetic? How do you show it? How does one show that they are unapologetic? Even better, what's the goal in being unapologetic? Frankly, it's pretty toxic to be the type of person who goes through life never apologizing to people when they've done wrong. Or even worse, being the type of person that is, in fact, never wrong. So, when we say that we are "unapologetically me", are we affirming that toxicity, or is it something else?

History, right? Black History, right? Well, there are definitely times that we all can recall that were major dates in history. The Million March in Washington. The assassination of Dr. King. Spike Lee's film, Bamboozled, is an intense rendition of how far the entertainment world will go to exploit and justify the exploitation of African Americans. Am I right on that? Maybe. I can't recall all the critical acclaim (or denouncing) this movie got when it was release in 2000, but by the time I watched it much later in 2008, I was in absolute awe. Of course, I was mature enough to understand the satire of the plot, but was also woke enough to be disturbed by the extremes and the truths in the movie.
