The above tweet that went out early this week has been churning in my mind for quite some time now. Based on a simple Twitter, I was able to somewhat streamline my blog focus for the folks who wanted to hear some insights, more maybe inspiration - or motivation - about having a job and a side hustle.
I'll be honest, though, folks. Nothing I say can garnish results. None of what is going to come from this particular blog is going to be of so much substance that you smack your boss in the job with a keyboard and walk out our your day job. Nope. What it will do, though, is motivate you to get your eternal shit together. This new series, Side Hustlers' Anthem is going to run down the creative and productive aspects of getting your creative juices flowing, as well as include some testimonials from my own experiences. Take from it what you can.

We run on instincts much like they do, and enjoy our natural way of operations physically. Much of our body's operations - breathing, heartbeat, and all the way down to cell growth - are completely involuntary. Nature makes us move even if we believe we're way above it. We are one in the same, and we might deny it, for humanity's sake, but we are comfortable in this dualistic scenario. The truth is, nature makes us greater human beings than our free will might ever make us.
Experience is the best instructor. There is no doubting that. I could literally go down a list of things that, if I knew then what I know now, I would handle much differently. Maybe I would have changed my serpentine belt on my classic '93 Buick Century so it wouldn't have blown out on I-4. I would have published my first short story well within my five years at the University of South Florida. I would have branded and operated GoodKnocking as a business long before the legal filing date it was established. The list really does go on. So, for my side hustlers out there, here are some pointers about Painful Lessons Learned About Having A Side Hustle.
And before we get into the list. Trigger warning is in effect. This list is geared towards people who have hit a rut and are looking to improve their effectiveness and elevate their business and/or brand. |
