#BHMBlogChallenge It's the first of the month and, despite having to pay rent and a few extra bills, it's also the first of February. Now, a lot of people have been asking me if I'm taking part in any blog challenges, or Black History Month fact content calendar and to be quite honest with you, I didn't plan on it (strangely). But now, with the amount of inquiries I've been getting I've decided to dive into my own version that I welcome any readers and followers to take part in. The truth is, as I told my friend, Kayla of ItsPronouncedKAYLA.com, the traditional Black History Month and it's fun facts and trivia photo challenges seems a bit dated to me. In fact, I haven't really participated in that kind of challenge since 2013 when I did it via Facebook. Instead, I am more for the introspective and historical relevance of Post-Civil Rights Era Black History, and even looking at the contemporary arts and history as the new drying paint for future murals. Black History Month, ot me, isn't the celebration of the distant past, instead it should involve some degree of gather facts and information so that we have a continuing timeline of history for our children to take part in. So, being said, I created a mini content calendar specifically for bloggers (even vloggers) to take part in, and will use the hashtag #BHMBlogChallenge to post and share anyone else's work on the topics. The challenges and their dates are below. 1. "3 Reasons To Continue Celebrating BHM 2. Spotlight: A Hero(ine) of History 3. Growing Up Black in [My Hometown] 4.
